[Reliable 1-year warranty] About product warranty

A minimalist storage shelf created by SHIKI.

The storage function, which is composed of a square space, gives a natural sense of unity to the items stored inside, and the open design, which eliminates walls, makes it possible to loosely divide the space.
The element of "90 degrees," or "right angles," which has a great impact on the beauty and strength of the appearance, is also a highlight of SHIKI, which specializes in box furniture.

By giving the minimalist "MITSUKI" a practical storage function, you can experience the presence of wood through the natural actions of everyday life, such as placing, displaying and touching.

What is Chinawood?
Sandalwood, a type of domestic timber, is a fast-growing tree with moderate hardness. It grows naturally in the relatively warm areas of Japan from the Izu Peninsula westward, and is found mainly in Shikoku and Kyushu, and can also be seen in various places in Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture. In addition, the Chinese china tree is a large tree that grows to a height of about 15 to 30 meters. In Japan, it has been used for Buddhist statues, rosary, and other Buddhist altar implements since the Heian period as a "tree that wards off evil." In recent years, it has taken root in daily life as a useful tree used for building materials, furniture, and woodwork.

In Okawa city, Fukuoka prefecture, we started planting and promoting China tree in 2018. Since this is an activity with a view to the next 15 to 20 years, China tree material is still rare and difficult to obtain.

Our efforts towards a future in which China wood is actively utilized aim to create a sustainable cycle in which forestry associations and local governments "nurture" it, we manufacturers and lumber mills "make" it, home builders and construction companies "connect" it, and you, the consumers, "use" it .

"Domestic fast-growing broadleaf trees" that can be used for 15 to 20 years
Although China tree is a broadleaf tree, it grows quickly and can be cut down in about 15 to 20 years after planting. Compared to coniferous trees such as cedar and cypress, China tree can be cut down in about one-third the speed, which leads to the revitalization of forestry industry.

Furthermore, as forest areas decline worldwide, imports of logs are restricted, making them difficult to obtain. Japan is one of the world's leading forested countries, but most of the logs are softwood such as cedar and cypress. Hardwoods are in demand as they are strong materials.

A sustainable material that contributes to reducing CO2 emissions <br data-mce-fragment="1">Bead trees grow quickly, and are said to have three times the CO2 absorption capacity of common broadleaf trees. Planting and utilizing Bead trees also plays a role in slowing down the progression of global warming.
