In the previous article , as an introduction, we touched on things like what interior design is, that it's a large industry, how furniture is categorized, and where furniture is produced in Japan.
This time, we would like to take a closer look at the manufacturers who supply materials to the interior design industry.
■ The manufacturer has a purpose

So, do you have a favorite interior brand or room style? In the previous article, we mentioned that each furniture manufacturer specializes in different types of furniture, but each manufacturer also has their own unique tastes and designs.
Taking SHIKI as an example, the core concept is "creating new beautiful forms with Japan's delicate and rich sensibilities as a backdrop," and the company creates products that propose Japan's unique aesthetic sense as interior design that matches modern lifestyles.
Just like with comics, movies, novels and other creative works, many manufacturers value originality and identity and work on creating products based on established concepts.
■ Only a handful of famous manufacturers

We manufacturers develop and manufacture products for both niche and mass markets to meet the needs of our users, including manufacturers that produce a natural, Nordic style using solid natural wood, and manufacturers that specialize in cool, modern styles with thin lines using iron.
We interior manufacturers strive to improve ourselves with the sole desire to deliver the best products to our users, but out of the many manufacturers not only in Japan but all over the world, only a handful are recognized by the general public.
We believe that increasing awareness through good content leads to a sense of security in the product and satisfaction in owning it. Becoming famous is a great pleasure for the manufacturer, and we also believe that it will help users to eliminate concerns when choosing a product and to develop an attachment to the product and use it for a long time.
Nowadays, various tools have made it possible to bring manufacturers and users closer together. For example, there is social media, and I think this column is one example.
