SHIKI also exhibited at OKAWA The Future Furniture 2021, which was held over two days from October 6th to 7th.
Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended. Thank you very much.
This time, the SHIKI booth was located in a space very close to the reception on the first floor. The exhibit focused on products made from domestic materials, and two new series of SHIKI products were announced at once.
I think this booth was able to express SHIKI's concept, which is "Creating new beautiful forms with Japan's delicate and rich sensibilities as a backdrop."
In the domestic timber section, we exhibited the new MITSUKI series, made from China chinaberry timber, as well as the MABI series. We also showed our new NOKO and FLOAT series as new proposals.

Chinawood is a domestically produced wood that is closely related to the SDGs.
It takes about 50 years for cedar, a well-known domestic timber, to reach that thickness, while China tree grows to the same thickness in about 20 years.
China trees originally grew wild in the mountains, but naturally grown wood was prone to bending, and required a great deal of effort to transport, so while it was a good material with a fast cycle, it had drawbacks such as being expensive to produce. As a result, there has been active activity here in Okawa, a furniture production area, to plant China trees properly and turn them into a more user-friendly material. For more information on China trees, please see this website. Please take a look.
The new NOKO series featured four items on display: a TV stand, a side chest, a sideboard, and a shelf.
This series is characterized by a design inspired by staggered shelves, inspired by the traditional Japanese architectural style of Shoin-zukuri.
This also received a lot of positive feedback from visitors.
This time, a remote exhibition briefing was also held, which was a first attempt.
The flow of the event was for SHIKI's representative, Shiki, to explain the products and answer any questions the customers on the other side of the screen might have.
We would like to continue to liven up the entire interior industry, exploring new ways to display products even at exhibitions during the coronavirus pandemic.
We have also posted footage of the remote exhibition on our YouTube channel, so we hope you will take a look.
Regarding our next exhibition, we will announce it on this site's news as soon as it is decided. Please look forward to the next SHIKI booth!
